Hello!
I followed your docs for the update and removed all the jars from the lib
directory in my debian box (/opt/lucee/lib) and put the new
lucee-5.0.1.85.jar there.
The start (service lucee_ctl start) did not come up with an error and the
status shows me “running”.
But when I open a .cfm file or the admin I always get an error 500.
What logs do you need for a solution?

why don’t you try the latest version 5.1.0.034?
Have a look at the lucee/tomcat/logs/catalina.out - logfile.
