here are the preview installers, they bundle

  • Apache Tomcat/9.0.62
  • Java 11.0.15 (Eclipse Adoptium) 64bit
  • BonCode 1.0.42

Windows https://cdn.lucee.org/lucee-5.3.9.131-SNAPSHOT-windows-x64-installer.exe
Linux https://cdn.lucee.org/lucee-5.3.9.131-SNAPSHOT-linux-x64-installer.run

Also available via Commandbox

Docker Builds will be published with the stable release

The Windows installer can optionally just use an existing JRE install

The Linux version doesn’t quite work yet, @Terry_Whitney any ideas? Here’s what I did for windows

You can test the latest 5.3.9 snapshot on CommandBox like so:

start cfengine=lucee@5.3.9-snapshot

I just did and it’s looking really solid.

Hi Zackster,

I downloaded the snapshot on a fresh install of RHEL Clone (Alamalinux) 8.5. It installed without issue.

the only things done where
download the binary installer
set executable to binary file
run installer as root

Installed java, installed lucee in /opt/lucee, started the lucee service

I had to manually fire up the browser to go view the lucee install, as the lucee install was done with root and the gui user was with a normal “non” privileged user account.

SELinux was enabled

great!

I didn’t hook up the use existing JRE option tho, that’s the last step

also, let’s go with your approach for the Mac installer?

Okay, let me see what happens when I add a Java Environment before I install.

When you choose “use existing JRE” the script does find the correct environment but there is a hard coded /sys/ directory pointing to bash scripts that isnt created with the installer.

Line 95,96, 132 among others looking for a sys folder in lucee install root.

In the github repository you have linux/sys , maybe sys path needs to be included with the install machine?
