New Operator - you know the replacement for createObject

Yesterday I went looking for cfscript documentation on the “New” operator.
You know the one that replaces createObject(). Well first try googling
for NEW, that is a non-starter. So I went to the lucee docs, cfdocs.org
and Adobe Docs. I could find no information at
About the docs :: Lucee Documentation on operators in general or the new
operator. CFDocs.org while I great site and my go to place for ColdFusion
documentation, they offered no information either. Adobe had a little
documentation that required a search to find.

So if new is the “new way” to create component instances then someone
should document how to use it.

(disclosure, I wrote it, but I have tried to be as through as possible, and
ppl have been good at pulling me up when I’ve been wrong). That said, yes,
Lucee’s docs are a bit wayward when it comes to anything other than tags
and functions, and Adobe’s docs are difficult to find anything in.

That said, googling for “cfml new operator” yields more results than
you’re likely to need.

Despite it’s name, it’s not “new”. It’s been in CFML since CF9, and
probably Railo since 3.something.
