Massive Felix.log

We have noticed during our testing that something has be consuming large
amounts of data on our new Lucee (Lucee 5.0.0.254) install. Today we
looked into it and found the following log:

/opt/lucee/tomcat/lucee-server/context/logs/felix.log

This log file was right at 20Gigs after like 5 days of Lucee running.
There are a ton of Debug messages. We went ahead an deleted it but it is
already back up to almost 2 Gigs since this morning.

Is there a way to reduce the size of this file?

Thanks Ivan! I saw that post but it is for Lucee 5.0.1.15. Since this is
a production environment and we are running Lucee 5.0.0.254 (Suggested for
prod servers) what is the best work around? Should I just delete the file
everyday? Is there an issue doing this? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.

See reply above!

I guess the question is … should I just upgrade to the latest snapshot?
Pros and cons of doing so. I have looked through a bunch of the changes
(Very nicely documented by the way Lucee dev team) and it seems to me like
there is no reason not to.

I’ve updated production system to latest snapshot (preview version) because
of that huge felix.log. No issues so far.

We have been running Lucee 5.0.1.67-SNAP in a production environment for
about a week. No more issues with the felix.log file. Actually, it is
sitting at 0kb. Wanna give a huge shoutout to “Michael Offner” for fixing
this issue!

See his posts about what he did to fix this issue:

Felix.log Debug Issue

Felix.log Size Management

If the server itself is working, depending on enviroment just create a
scheduled task or cron job to limit or move the log.

Add the bug to the list and wait for a stable version to fix the issue. On Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00:08 PM UTC-4, W. Williams wrote:
