Lucee needs restart after changing config

Maybe I don’t have my Lucee installed properly. I’ve noticed 500 errors occur after making a config change, such as enable/disable debugging output or changing the session timeout.

Is there a way to avoid this?

The workaround for me is to restart the Lucee service. Then all works.

Note that I’m using Windows Server (happens on 2016 and 2019) with IIS. I’m using Lucee version 5.2.7 but it occurs with older versions too.

Is there an error message or a stack trace? I’ve never seen this myself. Also, FWIW, 5.3.10 is the latest release.
