I am running out of tinker space, so before I destroy a perfectly good working install of Lucee 6 to test, I thought I would just query those who may know better.
If I use the Lucee 7 Installer, will Lucee 6 (current release) still work?
My method of installing is to take the war folder and drop it into the webapps folder, and do some binds to merge the web-inf into a public_html folder and use ajp. And since the installer takes care of the Tomcat setup mumbo jumbo, I now prefer using it (spoiled
).
Lucee 6.2 supports both javax and jakarta, so Tomcat 11, which the Lucee 7 installer bundles should be fine.
but i’d just install to a different dir, i have lucee6 and lucee7 tomcat installs myself

This is a nice idea until the installer overwrites the current lucee_ctl. Is there a way to setup the installer to check/ask what the lucee_ctl should be named vs overwritting what is already there?
If one wants to run multiple lucee installs, it will become a nussiance to go back and edit what was overwritten, then manually install the new service for the new install.
