Lucee 6 ColdFusion Version Support

Hi There - This is possibly a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find an answer in the documentation - What version of ColdFusion does Lucee 6 support? Is it higher than ColdFusion 2018?

Thanks for any help you can provide;

Hi,
There isn’t a specific 1:1 - that you can reliably use as a;
Lucee x.xxx = Adobe y.y.y.y

Because CFML as a language doesn’t have a “standard”.

A while ago, now there was a CFML committee - and your question - was something that was supposed to be an outcome of that committee.

I don’t pretend to “know” - but it is my 8understanding that Adobe walked away from that initiative.

Recently - in a recording, I heard @Gert (Lucee) state that there was hope this would restart, soon… but it was a few months ago - and I haven’t heard anything more about it since, either.

So the sort answer of all that is:

  • Don’t expect their to be 1:1 match-up.
  • if you find anything in ACF that Lucee does NOT have - let the Lucee team and they will add it - or give a reason as to why they are not adding it.
  • Lucee DOES take very seriously incompatibility issues with Adobe’s offerings.

Hi Gavin;

Thanks for your response. The context of my question is that my client is considering porting their large legacy ACF version 10 code base to Lucee. The client received a recent security report suggesting that they move to ACF version 18 update 19 (or later) to solve a variety of vulnerabilities in version 10. The Lucee documentation indicates that Lucee 5.3 is compatible with ACF version 18; Hence the question asking if Lucee 6 extends that compatibility to update 19 (or a later version).
