Lucee 5 on Windows Server 2012

Lucee has been running fine on this system, but i figured i’d better
mention this as it seems to have happened at least a couple times now –
when I restart Lucee it seems to lose it’s freakin’ mind… as soon as it
restarts, the SERVER admin login asks for a new password as if it was being
set up for the first time, and I believe any/all server-level settings are
lost. The individual sites don’t seem to lose their settings as far as I
can tell. This most recent time was via a restart from the server admin.
I don’t know if the same applies to a restart via Windows Services applet.

Any idea what might be going on here? It would really suck to migrate all
my sites from CF to Lucee, have them all running in production only to
randomly lose the top-level server settings at the most inopportune time.
It seems that it takes a second restart just to get the login page with the
new password prompt, after which settings are just “gone” - back to default.

Is the Lucee-Server folder being deleted? The Lucee-Server folder holds
all of the configuration files for the server level stuff. The web level
stuff is normally in a lucee folder under the WEB-INF folder per context.
If you installed Lucee via the installer then you have Tomcat as your
servlet container. Look for the Lucee-Server folder under the Tomcat
install folder. I don’t use Tomcat so I can help with the folder structure
layout.

If you backup the Lucee-Server folder that will backup all of the server
level config files.

I will try to remember, before i restart it next time, to make a copy of
that folder and then see if the folder is getting killed… is there
something in particular that would delete it though? On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 5:25:21 PM UTC-4, Andrew Penhorwood wrote:

Well, i just confirmed this - Lucee 5, if restarted *from the server admin,
*is totally wiping out all my server-level settings.

I had restarted it via windows control panel several times without issue.
The moment I tried it from the server admin, password was reset (prompted
to enter as if new install), and all settings are gone.

Windows 2012, IIS 8, Lucee 5.0.0.252.

Nothing that I know of.On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 5:57:17 PM UTC-4, Franc Amour wrote:

I too can confirm it. Windows Server 2012. Resart of Lucee via admin panel. A lot of files were deleted.
