Installer for WIndows 10 / 2016

I’ve got a patched Lucee 5.1.1 Windows installer available for testing if anyone has some time to help me put it through it’s paces. You can download the patched installer here:

http://lucee.viviotech.net/downloader.cfm/id/181/file/lucee-5.1.1.065-pl1-windows-installer.exe

After much weeping, gnashing of teeth, and agonizing cries of “WHAT’S EVEN HAPPENING!?”, I figured out that I needed to update InstallBuilder from version 16 to 17 in order for the installer to properly detect Windows 10 and 2016 as an actual Windows OS. All my “if OS = ‘Windows’ than do” statements were failing, but the upgrade and re-build using InstallBuilder 17 fixed most of that. There were also some small adjustments that I had to make to the scripts.

If you’d be willing to help me test these changes on various versions of Windows, I’d welcome the help.

Thank you in advance!

I just successfully used your installer on my Windows 10 laptop. No errors.
Fantastic!

Thanks.

Just tried this version on a Windows server 2012 R2 Standard and we get
Tomcat couldn’t start - uninstalling…

Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers! On Friday, 17 February 2017 21:28:26 UTC, Jordan Michaels wrote:

Hi Jordan,

I found this thread after trying the 5.1.1.065-pl0 install unsuccessfully,
i’m new to tomcat/lucee and am trying it out in a vmware workstation 12
windows 2016 environment. the first time thru with pl0 it failed to start
lucee and i uninstalled when i found this and tried the pl1 installer
below. unfortunately no luck there either. i stopped right there and have
the system ready to give you whatever you need to help troubleshoot the
installer.

I found a file called install.log in the c:\lucee folder, i’m hoping that
might help. i’ll continue to look around for other logs and attach more if
i find them. please ask if there is more i can do.On Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1:28:26 PM UTC-8, Jordan Michaels wrote:
