Clean Lucee 7: luceew.exe cannot find vcruntime140.dll

Clean ec2 instance of windows 2025 datacenter.

Installing Lucee 7.0.1.100

After the install I try to run the Lucee-Tomcat service monitor and receive an error that the vcruntime140.dll was not found.

OS: Windows 2025 datacenter
Java Version: 21.0.9 (Eclipse Adoptium) 64bit
Tomcat Version: Apache Tomcat/11.0.15
Lucee Version: 7.0.1.100

Update: 2026/01/15
Uninstalled 7.0.1.100 on the same server and installed 7.0.0.395.
It works just fine. I can open the Lucee-Tomcat Service Monitor without errors.

Ahh, seems that’s a known issue with the current Tomcat 11.0.15

The next version of Tomcat will include that fix.

In the meantime, you can also just install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable

I tried installing the c++ packages and it didn’t seem to help even after reboots. It was really strange. I just uninstalled and then installed the previous Lucee version and moved on for now. I can wait for the next version to come out and try again.
