I am running Lucee 5.1.0.17-BETA as seen from the update screen in the
Server Admin. When I go there to update it says this.
There is no update available for your version (5.1.0.17-BETA).
But I know that Lucee-5.1.0.31-BETA is available because I downloaded it
from the website. Does the “Update” function no longer work? Is there
something I am missing, as the update feature is one of the coolest feature
of Lucee.
Which updates have you selected above that l? Full screenshot or it didn’t happen

I couldn’t install snapshot either. It said because I’m on Windows server I
have to download
5.0.1.67-SNAPSHOT. jar. and do it manually because auto updater doesn’t
work.
I haven’t done this before. Just delete the old jar, copy the
5.0.1.67-SNAPSHOT jar to the lib folder and restart?
This page How to update Lucee :: Lucee Documentation doesn’t
really make it clear for My Lucee 5 scenario
but I’m assuming it’s the same as the updating the first release (4.5.0.42)
instructions?
Pretty much, that’s the gist of it for Lucee 5. Lucee 5 has all the dependencies bundled into one jar, making upgrades like this a LOT simpler. Lucee 4.5 does not have all the dependencies bundled, so you’ll need to update the files in the C:\lucee\lib\ folder to ensure you’re using all the proper dependencies.–

Thanks for the information. Is there a reason that betas are not covered
by the update process? We are just talking about a URL to a jar files
after all. I assume to update I can just place the downloaded jar file in
the “patch folder”.

Actually, you can update betas as far as I know in the admin. You just
have to set a custom provider URL of http://beta.lucee.org
Micha told me that a while ago. As far as I can tell, it’s the best-kept
secret in Lucee
Thanks!
