[Lucee] Where are the decent questions? (was Re: Tone and community guidelines)

the drama-to-substance ratio on this list is getting out of hand. So far
since launch the hottest topics of discussion have been Google v.
Discourse, FUD around CFML’s future with Lucee, and international societal
norms regarding profanity. How about we get back to the business at hand of
creating software, eh?

I can only presume, Andrew, that as people have issues to deal with with
Lucee / Railo, then they will raise them. Have you got any technical
questions that need answering?

I raised a question the other day, but got very little feedback. Other
questions seem to simply get answered, or - despite you choosing not to
notice them for the benefit of your post - are in hand.

However I also suspect people are still somewhat bewildered as to WTF is
going on vis-a-vis Railo / Lucee, and as time goes on it seems to be
getting less clear, rather than more clear.

Perhaps ppl are holding off on Railo/Lucee work whilst they digest the
ramifications of Railo going west, and evaluating whether Lucee is a viable
project to replace it, or whether the whole thing has really just imploded.

Also housekeeping questions will require a bit more attention than usual @
the moment. What with the new house ‘n’ all.

I’d say: be patient.

But ask all yer CFML questions… I think we all participate in those
threads too ;-)On 23 February 2015 at 20:32, ADK <@ADK> wrote:

Good to see a couple questions come in. I have to admit I was thinking
people may have got spooked from the last couple weeks and ran away.

I do not have any questions. When I do, I’ll ask. And of course, yeah, in
the broader sense, I get the’re housekeeping issues…

My only point was that for all the talk about Lucee being a new start and
attracting a new audience, etc. newcomers to this list could take a cursory
look at these hot threads and come to the conclusion that these guys really
don’t got their shit together yet. More succinctly: let’s try to keep our
eye on the ball.

That’s all.

I agree fully on the Railo/Lucee split, perceptions, questions and pending
success/implosion…On Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 11:56:27 PM UTC-8, Adam Cameron wrote:
