Java 11 certainly shouldn’t cause issues like that. Since you have a support plan now, are you available for a zoom session to review?
ahhh more context, the old EOL 5.4 needs / uses a lot more memory than Lucee 6.2 / 7.0

I know this is an older thread, but I saw you mention you were looking at a t2.medium for your server. I wanted to let you know that t2 instances in AWS are 12 year old hardware and the hypervisor is based on legacy technology - I would recommend strongly against using them. The natural replacement for these is t3.medium (or t3a.medium for AMD version which is a bit less performant but 10% cheaper).
