Lucee installation on AWS EC2 Windows servers not completing successfully

We have created a couple of new EC2 instances on AWS and had trouble
getting Lucee to run after running the Windows installer. We have tried
Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2012R2 instances (the current Base
versions) and both the Lucee 5.1.1 and Lucee 5.0.0 installers with the same
result… where the Lucee service is unable to start. In Event Viewer in
the System section we see the following error with Event ID of 7024: “The
Lucee service terminated with the following service-specific
error: Incorrect function.”

When we looked at the Lucee-Tomcat Service Control application, most fields
were empty. We populated these with settings from another server and it
solved the problem.

Any idea why these were not populated during the installation? The same
installers worked fine in the past on similar EC2 instances… the only
difference / common thread I can see is the current Base EC2 images.
Running Windows Updates didn’t make a difference.

Hi,

I have also had a problem with the latest Lucee Windows installer and have
posted details about it here:

This may or may not be related to your issue??

All the best,
