Diagnosing a Failed-to-deploy Lex

I’m trying to install Paul Klinkenberg’s Log Analyzer on a 5.0.0.252
instance. Upload via admin doesn’t work due to LDEV-889 Michael suggest
putting the lex file in the /lucee-server/deploy manually and wait for it
to be installed. After about a minute, it gets moved to a failed-to-deploy
folder.

I’ve checked the logs for the instance and see no errors. Is there anyway
to know why it failed to deploy?

Side note: The admin is confusing because it’s asking for a zip not a lex
and the stuff I’ve read indicates 4.x use zip and 5.x use lex files. Is
that a typo in admin? or is it just wrong? If so I’ll create another ticket.

It will be in the log in :

express/lib/ext/lucee-server/context/logs/deploy.log

(or whichever installation version you have)
and the path to put your lex would be:

express/lib/ext/lucee-server/context/deploy

Regards

Yeah, sounds like you are trying to deploy a Lucee 4 lex to Lucee 5 I
think. Lucee 5 went for OSGI only. Not sure how to deploy backward
compatible lex’s

Thanks. Error is with the plugin apparently

“extension-loganalyzerinstaller-2.2.1.35.lex] is invalid,no Manifest file
was found at [META-INF/MANIFEST.MF].”

just to make sure, the lex files are self contained right? On 7 July 2016 at 16:13:18, Jay B (@Jay_B) wrote:
