Every major version upgrade has breaking changes of some kind, so you should never just ‘roll’ a major version upgrade without checking the breaking change list anyway, and a config change in admin is a no-brainer update.
Admin config changes are far from the most significant issue you’ll have when upgrading to lucee 7 anyway, and if you RTFM on breaking changes, problem solved in 1 second.

@dawesi , you quote me, but I think you miss the context of my remark. I had not upgraded to a major version and was not about to do so. So I had no problem to be solved. Or, to borrow your language: problem solved in 0 seconds. 
My remark is about “breaking change” as a software practice in general.
