Cfspreadsheet

I am wondering if their is an alternative to this tag.

I find this a very useful tag.

I am running the express version and I am getting an error stating that it
is an unknown tag.

That one won’t work with Lucee because of embedded jars referencing
“railo”. Try this version adapted for Lucee:

making sure you follow the installation instructions carefully.

Alternatively I maintain a full-featured spreadsheet library for Lucee
that doesn’t need to be installed as an extension:

I’ve recently updated it to the latest stable POI 3.12 and am about to
release a new version with improvements to the read() method.

Dan, if you’re asking about my spreadsheet library then it’s designed
to be available server wide. It’s not an extension so there’s no
installation, you just call it just like any library component.

But it sounds as if you have existing cfspreadsheet tags and
functions, and the library won’t support that without changes to your
code. In which case Michael’s post may help you.

Cheers

Do you have a sense of if it’s possible to install this at the server admin
level and have it be available to all web contexts on that server? I have a
client migrating ~150 sites from Railo 3.x to Lucee 4 (x2 as we have 2 load
balanced servers) and would like to keep from having to do the web admin
install 300-ish times if possible.

Thanks Mike! Will do…in the morning that is. Brain is fried so I’m
calling it a night.

Cheers!

Dan,

You might want to check out this article about getting it running at the
server level. Read the comments, as it might require one extra mapping to
be added after the install.
