Cfproperty boolean default fails

Have a boolean type cfproperty in a compnent and I am trying to set a default of “false”.
default=“false” and default=“#booleanFormat(0)#” and even default=“#javacast(“boolean”, false)#” all return a string of false instead of boolean. setter works fine. ACF 201, 2023, and 2025 work fine.

Anyone run into this?
