Approach Lucee language decisions "properly"

G’day:
This thought-stream ended up too long for this forum, so I blog-articled it instead: Lucee (/CFML?): approach Lucee language decisions “properly”.

I’m cross-posting here because this was its initial intended home.

TL;DR:

Basically… the entire approach so far to this .lucee thing has been… erm… “poorly realised” so far (IMO, as with everything on this blog), and now is precisely the time for this to be addressed. Before it goes out the door. Don’t let it get out the door, yet.

That’s actually the last para of the article, so it’s perhaps best to read the article to get the framing.

I totally agree that the new lucee dialect should not be realeased any time soon.

If you then decide to clean up the language from some nasty worthless CF features, it will be impossible, since you’ll break the backwards compatibility.

I agree that the lucee dialect needs more time and discussion before being released.

Probably not appropriate in this format for this forum. Better to create individual topics to discuss specific issues.
